FS/FT Fender Custom Shop Jazz IV - Ice Blue Metallic - Maple Neck/White Block Inlays

Sign in to disble this ad
I am not sure if I am ready to part with this bass yet but wanted to see what my fellow TB'ers might offer up in trade. I am a working musician so the bass has a couple of blemishes which I will send photos of via e-mail. I am interested in 4 string basses, particularly Vintage Fender basses, Musicman, Lakland, or Fender Custom Shop (apples to apples).

My bass is a rare combo of Ice Blue Metallic and Maple neck with white Abalone inlays. I don't have a scale but the bass is light; I would guess around 8 1/2lbs. I have the Fender Custom Shop "Certificate of Authenticity", Case candy, and Fender hard case. It was constructed in 2003 and 100% original.

I play 70's funk, classic soul, motown, and the like and am looking for a bass that will fit those styles. I am good in the amp and cab dept so bass guitar offers only please. I will consider cash offers; they are listed used on ebay in the $1800 range (see link below)

Mine has a couple of knicks and dings so just make me a reasonable offer! PM me with offers and I can send more detailed photos via e-mail. Thank you for looking!

Here is the Fender Description:

The Jazz Bass Custom Classic proves the magic of the Fender Custom Shop is in the hands of the builders! Their years of experience, range of skills and expertise at their craft make the instruments they build highly sought-after by players, celebrities and collectors.

Subtle refinements to Fender's legendary Jazz Bass guitar make the Custom Classic model a true player's instrument. This bass features a slightly slimmer waist contour, plus deeper cutaways for greater access to the upper registers of its 21-fret rosewood fingerboard, and is an elegant take on a Fender design classic. The Custom Classic's unbound neck, mother of pearl block inlays and detailed fret dressing round out the gorgeous look and feel of the instrument. On the inside, a cutting-edge 18-Volt preamp was designed in parallel with new ferrous-carbon pickups. The resulting synergy of this interactive system design offers a dynamic, versatile and controllable tone-shaping platform with greater headroom and less noise.

The bass is made in America and is a product of the Fender Custom Shop in Corona California. It is a Fender Custom Shop Jazz Bass and based on the serial # I believe it was constructed in 2003. Here are some links:

I had one of these. They are very cool basses. However, I think the solid color ones are alder not ash. They made some with translucent finishes which were ash. Check the Fender specs. FYI.

These are great basses. Beautiful colour and sweet block inlays.
