Trade: Lakland DJ4 for MIA Precision

Sign in to disble this ad
OK, this might make me sound a little nutty (a condition I've learned to live with) but I am curious about making a VERY specific trade, cuz let's face it, TB is a nutty place and it could happen

I have a brand new Lakland Skyline Darryl Jones 4 string in the limited edition Adam Clayton finish, the body is swamp ash with natural finish, maple fretboard with black blocks, no binding. I bought what was advertised as the very last one available, can't say whether that's true or not but they are hard to find as it was discontinued a while ago.

This one has Lakland single coil pickups, they are hot, loud, and aggressive. Bass weighs just over 8 pounds and was Plekked at the factory.

Mine is new and perfect, I've been playing it for a few weeks now so it has some swirls on the pickguard, but that's it. I installed Straploks and a second button on the butt end. She's in an SKB hard case that I will include.

What I would want in trade is a late model Fender American Standard Precision in Olympic White with a maple fretboard. I will consider all options but I really have my heart set on that color and board combo...long story.

Thanks for looking.

AFAIK Fender never made that oly/maple combo for 2008 and later AM STD P's. I could be wrong, though.

In this case, you are wrong. I had one for awhile. Olympic White has been available with rosewood or maple on the '08 > Am. Stds. And the Oly. White/maple really looks sweet. (Of course, so does the rosewood!)

Have pics of the extra strap button? Curious where the hole is.

No pics of the extra button, but it's located exactly 3 inches above the standard button on the butt of the guitar, I do this with all my basses because it improves balance and keeps my forearm off the body while plucking, something that can lead to carpal tunnel.

I have to put this whole thing on hold because I leave for 3 days on the road beginning tomorrow and just don't have time to deal with it at the moment. I also just strung it with flatwounds and they worked their usual magic for me...it took on a whole new character that I'm really digging so I may end up keeping it.

Sorry to be so ambivalent about this, but I will respond to anyone interested in a couple of days and let you know if it's still available or not.

Thanks.

I stand corrected. I've never seen one. Nor is it shown on Fender's website. Sure wish they'd do that on a P5

question

Probably not what you're looking for but ......

I have a well used and modifed 1983 P-Bass in what used to be a much brighter cream colol with roesewood but has faded to a nice butterscotchy creme color (I'd have to get pics to show that)

Also has a P/J setup but can house a MM pick in the bottom. I had it routed that way.

Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Oly White/Maple Jazz could work too

Hey guys, back in town and all PM's replied.

I've decided I will not be keeping this bass, it sounds great but it doesn't sound like a Fender and that's the bark this ole dog wants to hear.

Because there seem to be a LOT of them out there I will say that I'm not interested in sunbursts...I already have a gorgeous MIA P in sunburst/rosewood.

I will add late model Fender Jazz basses to my WTT list, but again, Oly White/Maple is really all I want (unless you have the lighweight '75 reissue Jazz I've been looking for a long time!

Thanks for playing along.

DAMN!

I've got my 2007 listed, but it's Shoreline Gold and Maple.

Sale

Lots of trade offers but haven't hooked into the combo I need yet...if I can't find it I would sell this bass for $1200 including an SKB hard case and Fed Ex shipping within USA.

Bass is curently strung with 50-105 D'Addario Chromes. Neck is perfect and the action is stupid low.

These are very hard to find in this color.
