Trade for PA Gear, Rackmount Amp Gear, Unusual Basses

Sign in to disble this ad
Looking for PA gear (mixers, power amps, mics, subs, monitors, etc) since my PA got pretty much destroyed due to a busted water heater in its storage area sometime during the week. To put things in perspective all I have is two old Yamaha 2x10 monitors, and 2 JBL 2x15s with horns. I just bought some cheap mics (Shure PG58s) as a package from guitar center and I'm using an old Yamaha vocal PA until I get everything together again. Please no Behringer or Peavey.

I'm also switching to a rackmount amp step up as well (already have tuner, amp, and wireless) but I still need a rack for it and wouldn't mind some rack mounted effects. I might take some unusual basses in trade as well, but no Fenders or Fretless basses since I'm well covered in that department.

I'm located in Staten Island, NY, but I have access to a truck and could most likely pick up stuff in the tristate or metropolitan NYC area. I live between the Verrazano and Bayone bridges.

Looking for
(1) Shure SM58s
(2) Shure SM57s
Kick drum mic
12 Channel or greater Mixer
(2) 1000 watt+ Power Amps
Rackmount vocal compressor

I can wait on the mics but I really need the mixer and pwer amps.

What would also be nice is
A decent set of monitors
A decent pair of subs to handle the bass and kick
Maybe some better PA speakers than the JBL JRX125s I'm using

Carlo Robelli Acoustic Bass Guitar

Black cheapo Carlo Robelli. It actually sounds really good and works great. Could use a new set of strungs and a set up. Great shape and includes its soft case where its always been kept.

Pics up soon.

Japanese Ibanez Roadstar II RB850

Early 80s Ibanez Roadstar II. Killer bass. It has two large humbuckers that sound awesome. The controls for the bass are blend, volume, tone. The volume and tone knobs (might be volume and blend I haven't played this bass in awhile) are coil taps for the humbuckers. Lots of great sounds out of this bass and it is currently strung with D'Addarrio chromes. I had this bass strung with rounds and it was huge sounding but too aggressive sounding for me so I mellowed it up some with flats (plus I'm just a flats just in general) Great hardware stays in tune very well and extremely light weight.

The body looks like it was dragged under a truck but the neck is a dream to play. I was surprised that the neck wasn't sticky since its a painted neck and it led me to get an Ibanez Musician which replaced this one in my arsenal. Musician wins out because of the contoured neck heel and mellower 2 band preamp.

Yamaha BB400-Traded

Super players Yamaha BB400!

Great and even sounding P-bass, especially with the reverse P-bass pick up! This bass has some serious mojo and the wood on the body is worn away in spots. Probably from some aggressive slapper. Frets were dressed and levels and it had the pots replaced with 250k ones from all parts and a .33uf cap on the tone pot.

The knobs were moved and the hole from one of them was plugged and had the Woody the Woodpeck sticker placed over it. Speaking of stickers the Superman one fell off.

Water Buffalo nut and dunlop strap locks complete the package.

D tuner is a little stiff to turn.

TRADED!

FrankenFender P-bass

MIA Fender highway series neck from 2007 with original hardware. It has the 70s logo.

Weird 80s body in Fender dimensions. The woods are ash (tan), wenge (brown), and padouk (red) handmade by some guy called KR Glenn. He does great work. The body is routed under the P/G to reduce weight. Lots of mojo as this bass was played a ton. Very growly and aggressive tone.

All parts knobs

Early Dimarzio model P pickup.
Cloth wiring Allparts 250 pops
Orange .47uf cap

Plastic Mirror P/G that my friend made a paisley amoeba design. Its sealed onto the pickguard. Would come off with some elbow grease and paint thinner.

New design:

Mesa RR2x15 Cabinet

Road Ready and Road Worn Mesa 2x15. Loaded with a Carvin 15C (made by Eminence I think) in the top and an 8 ohm Eminence Beta 15A in the bottom. They're both stamped steel frame with only a handful of gigs under the belt. Previous owner tried to install another smaller speaker for mids, gave up and sealed the hole. It looks ugly but you can't even tell its there due to the blue sparkle grill cloth. Great cab that plays in either 8 or 4 ohms.

Ampeg B25B

Never thought I'd do this. 55 watts of pure Ampeg tube power. I've been using this live and in the studio since I got it. Great shape for its age with only minor nicks and tears in the tolex. Says Union University Music Department on the top. I think its late 60s, on loan to another TBer until I get it back. He loves it too and offered to buy it. I said no at the time, and now I need a PA so this has to go. Missing two plastic knobs. Recently gone over and given a clean bill of health. Replacement knobs are $7 at fliptops.

Pics up shortly.

Gibson/Epiphone Les Paul

Got this on TB a month ago. Says Gibson and looks and plays like one. Its actually an Epiphone. Great shape, light weight, and an awesome player. The guitarist for one of my bands wants to buy this since its such a great player, but he doesn't have any money. I reserve the right to pull this if he ends up getting money.

Pics up shortly and it includes a Gibson soft case.

Fretless P/J Custom

My last fretless and the only one I've ever kept after getting rid of MIJ and MIA fretless Jazz basses including a CS Jaco Relic.

The neck has been reshaped in the back and doesn't have a finish. Its been defretted and a good job has been done to it. Epoxied too.

Was recently set up as well. Currently has a lighter Vintage Fender Bridge (RI) but will also include a heavier Fender Claw bridge from the 80s. Fender RI tuners, Nordstand hum cancelling P/J pickups. Volume, blend, tone with CTS pots. Wenge neck with an ebony board. Seasoned 130 year old ash body, stained and finished in nitro. Has some mojo but its been played a lot.

I reserve the right to come to my senses.

Pics shortly.

6 Space Guitar Tree

What it says. Holds 3 on the bottom and 3 on the top. Good shape and works fine. Had some problems with it originally where the legs on the bottom would come loose. A few minutes, and some elbow grease, later problem solved and hasn't given me an issue since.

I'm not gonna ship this.

Squier Precision 5 project

This is my 3rd or 4th of these basses. They make great mod platforms. This one is in OK shape. Has some stickers which I'll remove. Dead strings. One of the knobs fell into the pickguard and it needs a new washer/nut to hold it back in place. Superwide neck. Cool gold finish.

1970/71 Epiphone Lefty Acoustic

Great sounding acoustic strung righty. Its interior label is partially gone but the model is called a Texan. FT is visible and so are some numbers. Took it to Mandolin Brothers in Staten Island, NY and they said its from 1970/71 and is one of the earliest Matusmoko acoustics.

The neck is, I believe, a bolt on judging from the plastic square in the back with screws in it. Comes with an old case that might be the OHSC.

Would be an excellent sounding and playing guitar if it didn't take a bad knock during shipping from CA to NY. The neck got jilted forward and damaged the body some. Now it has really high action, plus the damage near the sound hole.

Mandolins quoted me $400 for the repair. Bear in mind they also charge $60 to set up a bass and then the cost of strings on top of that. Other places have quoted me a lot less to fix this but I haven't had the time or much inclination since I don't really play guitar anymore and when I do its my Martin 000-18.

Pics up shortly.

Digitech Bass Chorus, Guttermouth Vox Wah

Replied. Would also like the chance to offer up some more effects.

Digitech bass chorus. Looks almost new but it needs a new spring for the pedal. Portion. Original spring crapped out on me.

Guttermouth modified Vox Crybaby wah pedal. Includes carry bag. Has velcro on the bottom.
