I have a Carvin IC5 (Icon 5-string bass); Carvin soapbar humbuckers currently installed, but I have the J99AS/ASR single coils as well. I bought this bass last December, and I've played it about 20 times total (less than 12 hrs. total playing time). It is MINT. CHERRY. PRISTINE. Purple quilted maple finish, 5-piece maple/walnut neck, and the multi-layer color finish on the body, which gives the color much more depth.
Regarding your string-spacing, the Hipshot A bridge allows you to individually space each string side-to-side.
