Two rare 80s Vantage basses

Sign in to disble this ad
I have two rare early 80s Vantage basses for sale. These are from the renowned Matsumoko factory in Japan. These early 80s Vantages are far superior to the later 80s models.

Both are split coil Dimarzio P pickup with volume and tone controls.

Nut width is 1 5/8"

Scale length 32" (medium scale)

These are highly rated basses and known to be underappreciated and, therefore, undervalued.

First up is a VB600 fretless. Walnut wings, maple centre, maple neck with rosewood board. This bass has numerous dings and wear - all cosmetic (including scar of a thumbrest a past owner had glued on and another removed - visible in photo).

BUT - it's got a brand new bridge and was professionally set-up when I acquired it last fall.

$400 plus shipping from Canada

More photos and the other bass to follow...

Standard II

Next up: a Standard II from '82. These are very rare. Black. Don't know what the wood is but it is not heavy. Maple neck with rosewood board.

It is in VERY good shape for its age. No significant dings or wear.

$225 plus shipping from Canada.

two more photos

of the Standard II

Here's a Vantage admirer's thread: any vantage fans out there?

Each will come in a gig bag and be well packed.

Chromes on the VB600. Unknown rounds on the Standard II.

Moving these because I need to thin the herd and just acquired a P Thinline fretless which covers that need.

Looking to go to a good home!
