I always seem to attract these ugly-ducklings.
This here is a 1980's Made In Japan Ibanez RB680 Roadstar II. I'd say just a hair under 9 lbs. EMG's. Rosewood board. Truss rod turns in either direction. Neck is, IMO, staright and true. Some fret wear. Quite a bit of honest players wear. Strung with either DR Sunbeams or Lowbeams (can't remember).
I'm assuming the bass was originally all black (headstock, neck and body). It looks like somebody attached some stickers to the body and then maybe tried to put a clear coat of something over the stickers? Not sure....But the stickers have mostly come off and remnants of the clear coat are still on the body. That's where you get the ugly from. Also, I recut a slot for the G string as it was waaaaaaay out of line with the rest of the strings (the gap between the G and D string was hee-YUGE) and was driving me crazy. Strings are all equal distance from one another now.
The good:
--So ugly it's borderline cool.
--Nice player as-is.
--Everything is 100% functional.
The bad:
--So ugly it's borderline not cool. $175 + shipping from 43065, Powell, OH, just NW of Columbus. Thanks!
(EDIT: The bass looks worse in person. And the "matte" look is only on the front of the body. The back, neck and headstock are all high-gloss.)

It's a tough call on describing fret wear as it's a pretty subjective thing. I'm not too picky about fret wear, so keep that in mind.
And thanks for all the "that's not too bad", but it does look worse in person! And the finish isn't matte. That's the leftovers from whatever was applied to the front of the body. The rest of the bass is still high-gloss.
The bass does have a darn nice tone and if you're like me and dig those in-between Precision and Jazz necks then you'd be pleased with this neck.

I'll play any bass that feels and sounds great - good luck with the sale!

Especially leaning on that bridge pickup. Is it going to replace your $2,000 boo-teek? No. But for a buck-seventy-five it's worth the price of admission.
