This is one SMOKING freaking Jazz Bass. The pickups are super quiet and FAT FAT FAT ! Plays incredibly well, and even with the covers on is not even close to a "back breaker" - I just did a 3 hour gig with it, and I broke my neck a few years back, so I'm VERY sensitive to weight issues. No scale here, but probably 8.75 - 9 lbs with the covers on. Metalflake/sparkle paint goes between "gold" and "orange" depending on the angle and the light. AFAIK, it's the only one like it around.
