Ultra Modded MTD KZ-5 making rounds on TB

Sign in to disble this ad
I got this bass from Aaron here on TB (Hollowman), who BTW is a great guy to deal with, several months back. Alas, I can't swing a 5! I have gone back to my Warwick 4's! So it's up for sale again.....it's been around the block on TB a few times, but don't let that fool you! It's a tone shaping dream, really easy to play with a great neck, and slappers will enjoys this! The action can go LOW.......here's a link to the original thread for pics

MTD KZ5 - upgraded with Nordstrand DC's and Audere 4-band

I am going to ask no more, no less than what I paid for this $1050 shipped

Only trades would be maybe for Bergantino Cabs-nv610 or nv412, I have a ht-322 and a nv215! MAYBE A THUNDERFUNK AMP?????

Thanks and Happy Easter!

three words ITS WORTH IT! I got an MTD very similar to this at the begining of the year and the tone shaping is incredible!

Can you magically make it a 6-string with 16.5mm string spacing so that I can buy it? I'll pay you $250 over asking price.

I'll chime in as a previous owner. Bottom line is the bass is fantastic. The Nordy DCs are very nice and the Audere pre is flexible and transparent. The neck is nice classic MTD and the only reason I got rid of her was because I moved my entire stable to 34" scale. With the 19mm bridge and wide nut spacing, the fretboard was a bit much for me, but I'm sure it will be perfect for someone with larger hands than mine. Plus, it's just beautiful and looks much nicer than the "pumpkinburst" that seems so common with these KZs, IMO. =)

"Could" buy this and sell my carvin... both dual coil basses... but this would be more versatile tonally.

This bass was originally mine. I bought it then had Pete Skjold modify it for me. All I can say is that if your 'TONE' is not in this bass then your tone has not been created. The bass is dead on in every way. I promise you that you won't be dissapointed with the bass tonally. Add to that the weight is like a feather. ENJOY!!!!
