So sad but once more I have left my credit cards snowball and I will need to unload some basses.
This is an amazing Chicago-made Lakland 55-07, in beautiful ice-blue, rosewood fretboard and birds-eye maple dots.
The 55-07 is basically a 55-94 (same body, same neck) with a different pickup configuration: the highly regarded Chi-Sonics, made by Lakland's sister company, Hanson.
The Chi-Sonics on this bass are the humbucking type, which are rare and not currently available for purchase. The preamp is the LH3 also made by Hanson, with a twist: there's a passive tone control and a coil tap switch which can make them single coils.
It is in like new shape, I could not find any marks or scratches on it. It weighs 9.38 lbs in my wife's accurate digital kitchen scale. Comes with the cream G&G case.
Now the icing on the cake: it has arrived yesterday from Lakland where it received a super setup from the man Carl Pedigo himself. You won't believe how well it plays.
Price is
$2,500, or best offer, shipped CONUS[/b], PayPal only. I will entertain trades plus cash, especially if they include basses I can sell later, such as Lakland Skyline 5 string basses.
Want to hear how it sounds? Here's a video I recorded last year of Ed Friedland here in Austin, playing a 44-07, basically the 4 string version of this bass. He sold his for $3,000 not so long ago:
