97 G&L L-2000, huge, fingery stripes in the ash body with a hint of flame, gorgeous honeyburst finish, no dings or hacks/ rash, just some mild player wear around the neck pickup and a few faint slap scratches. Cavities are all fully copper-foil shielded. Neck measures at just under 1-11/16 at the nut, truss rod is 100% with lots of thread on the bullet. The neck developed a 'ski-jump' at the heel, so, rather than doing things the easy way, I had master luthier Paul Iverson remove the frets, plane the fingerboard to a nice, flat 12" radius, then install the same size frets. The action is stupid low, check the pic's, and plays with no buzz, unless you drive it really hard behind the neck heel (I set up all my basses for this). Gets some growl.
Sound-wise, this one really cuts in the mix, and puts out some seriously loud harmonics that you've never heard before- your dog will hate you! The back pickup is especially sweet in the OMG setting. If you're looking for a dark-toned dub bomb, this bass isn't it, but if you want something that is assertive, aggressive, and just plain mean, this is your bass.
This was my main player since I got it from dbopp in 2006, and have taken great care of it. Yes, have the COA and unsigned warranty card, and there is a generic TKL hardcase to go with it. Just to give an idea of how good this bass is, this one has chased off two vintage Sabres (Quad got one of 'em), a bunch of other G&L's, a few StingRays, a Tung, a vintage Rick or two,...
Ships from Canada, and I am able to ship from the US, I can work with the buyer on that. Pic's are here..,
