USA Spector NS-2H5 FS/FT

I'm looking to trade my USA Spector NS-2H5 bass that I purchased from The Perfect Bass in 2007. I've never gigged it and have only taken it to a couple practices, otherwise, it's stayed in my house. The bass came with EMG DCs and the tone pump but the Perfect Bass had it sent back to the factory for EMG TWs and an OBP-3 preamp. Shameless plug: The Perfect Bass is an awesome store.

Specs: Quilted Maple Top with lightweight African mahogany body with black stain finish. It almost looks deep blue under light. 3 piece graphite reinforced rock maple neck.
EMG TW pickups with coil taps run through an Aguilar OBP-3 preamp. Wired VOL/VOL ( coil taps), switchable mids (push pull 400/800Hz) and stacked bass treble.
No cosmetic damage bass, dings or nicks in the bass whatsoever.

The bass is very comfortable, weight approx. 8lbs, has an absolutely awesome neck with 17mm spacing with 35mm scale.

It has a much woodier sound than your typical Spector basses but also lighter weight with a faster neck. The bass has a great recorded sound with awesome low mid presence....it really records very well but I'm moving in a different direction with the sound I prefer.

I'm looking for nicer Fender style basses ( Valenti, Lull, Sadowsky...maybe Lakland ) and older Spector euro models. +or- cash as needed. Straight sale for $1500+shipping for outright sale. Will do either 4 or 5 string basses.

Edit: Any trade offers will be entertained, this bass is a departure from my normal sound so maybe I could use another bass with similar "character". Elrick, Zon, Modulus or whatever!

This is generally a good representation of the basses sound in single coil mode. It's a bit fatter sounding in dual coil mode but it's the same general sound.

For you Spector fans who don't care for the weight of the neckthru's this is your bass. Had one of these for quite awhile and they are very nice basses. USA at $1500 ain't bad.
Good luck with the sale.

Spector

Thanks! This is s great gigging bass for that reason. I love my neck through Spectors but they are heavy. This one weight just under 8 pounds. I'll throw in a set of new Spector nickel strings with the trade.

Spector

Willing to trade down a bit + cash. May also be interested in amps of the GK, Mesa, EBS variety. I already have an Mpulse 600 and GK1001 and would be interested in a Titan V-12 , 2001RB or something similar.

If that's USA made, than it should be Spector NS-5H2-FM, or am I wrong?

Do you ship oversees?

Spector designation

Stuart Spector seems to believe that it's a NS-2H5

I can ship internationally but the buyer will have to pay shipping and associated costs. I'll get a quote for serious buyers using whichever carrier they prefer.

a misprint? Is that possible?

Anyhow, it has all the indications of the NS-5H2-FM model with Figured Maple in Caribbean Blue...

or possibly smb is more competent in that?

Spector inspector

Semantics... It is what it is . All the paperwork I have designates the model as NS2-H5. If it has been mislabeled by the man I guess it's more collectable and I'll have to jack the price accordingly.

The color is black stain, which appears dark blue under the light. Its really a beautiful finish.

I actually own the same bass in Caribean Blue (or whatever color it's called). I think the name changed a couple of years ago. It didn't matter if it was spalted or flame maple and you were charged accordingly. No name differentiation as it is today

Anyway... bump for a great bass!

I used to have an NS-2JH6-EX. From this one would assume exotic top, 1 H, 1 J pickup 6 string right?
It had two Hs.
Soooo they don't always match up to what it is exactly...
