USA Spector NS5 Buckeye!

Sign in to disble this ad
I've got a beautiful Spector USA NT in near mint condition that I'm putting up. I've never seen another Spector like it. I absolutely love this bass but I'll likely rarely play it out so I'm looking for something I will use more. I've already got a Spector ( Czechtor) NT 5er with solid maple body that is pretty close tonally. This bass is more open sounding, a bit less zingy but more complex in the high mids. I prefer the sound over my Euro but, again, I won't play it as much.

I'm looking for Fender Style basses ( Sadowsky, Lull, Celinder ect...). I may also trade for the right MTD. I'll consider multiple basses or a trade +cash. If anyone has Wal they want to put up I can add cash. Looking for 4 or 5 strings but have no interest in sixers. I'll consider other trades I but need something I can use more live.

Update: Forgot to mention this as the bass has been sitting on on its hangar and I haven't really handled it much lately. There seems to be a couple of air bubbles under the finish on the top of the headstock and around the logo. These aren't chips and you can't depress the bubbles, it just looks like a couple bubbles developed. This has been the case since I bought the bass and hasn't got any worse since I received it almost 4 years ago. Sale price is adjusted accordingly. I'm sure it could be fixed but it's never bothered me enough to ship off.

Straight sale for $2900

Pickups: EMG DCs
Pre: EMG BT I believe. It's not the HAZ-LAB.
Body: Buckeye Top, Flamed Maple Core and Walnut back. Only one like this I've ever seen.
Neck: Graphite Reinforced 3 piece maple.
Comes with straplocks and 3 inch padded leather strap and Spector HS case with humidifier.

PM me or e-mail to benthughes@yahoo.com

Spector

The Spector NS design tends to hang well and be very comfortable while standing. No noticeable neck dive. Nice chunky neck with fairly narrow spacing just like I like 'em!

I'll get a picture of the buckeye outside later. It's gorgeous in person and cleeeeeeeean!

There's another Buckeye up right now for almost $5000.

Updated Pics

Snapped some more pics today. I've got Hi-res pics on my digital camera I've got to figure out how to transfer to my computer ( Find the damn cord). They're essentially the same pics but bigger.

Today I noticed theres a ding in the finish on the lower horn. It's an indentation that a local luthier says he could essentially remove. You can see it in the pics, it's about the size of the corner of a pencil eraser. The top, however, is flawless.
