This is a Tobias "Classic" Series Bass, SN # 4057 from the Gibson era. This is a superbly crafted bass from Tobias: Nashville, TN =1997 production. It is a KILLER sounding, fast playing, very comfortable & well balanced bass!

There is an area alongside the lower edge (near the output jack) where the finish got chipped (see pics) long ago, but the finish still holds & the wood beneath it seems to be fine. A very small clear finish chip directly above the nut (see pics). Spot areas of a cosmetic and transparent like smokey "haze," blushing, (see pics) on the clear finish @ front & backside of the body, @ back of the neck, & @ the peghead. Stewart-McDonald sells a spray on "Blush Eraser", if someone wanted to try it........Not in mint condition, but still very nice !!

Nice bass at a good price. Wish I were able...

Unless I am wrong, the Tobias would have a polyester finish. The Blush Eraser StewMac sells is intended for use with nitro finishes. I'd be concerned that it might harm a poly clear coat.

Re: Blush Eraser

Good advice bassman10096.....
I have seen spec sheets that say on the Tobias Classic Serries both polyurethane and nitro cellulose lacquer were both custom options.
Not knowing for sure which one is what kept me from trying.......

trades? I have a USA fender jazz 5 with bartolinis and an Audere pre and a 1980 Mostsumoku built Vantage bass that I'd trade you. If you're interested in a 2 for 1.

Let me know! I'm going to be in seattle all weekend...
