I'm selling an amazing Vadim 6 string bass that I had custom made for me in 1999. $2700 or best offer, which is much less than a new Vadim bass would cost, and much less than I paid for it. This is a steal.
35" scale, 9 piece wenge, purpleheart and maple neck through design. Quilted maple top with a brown stain that makes the quilt very 3D. Walnut back. Exotic hardwood fingerboard and body core. Maple accent veneer in 4 piece body.
Pickups (in wood covers) and electronics custom made by a friend of Vadim's in California. This friend was at the time an engineer for Basslines pickups.
Black hardware, I think its Gotoh. Inlaid straplocks.
Custom made Clydesdale ATA flightcase included, and a Comfort Strap.
This bass looks, plays and sounds stunning, and I can hardly believe I'm selling it. It was the perfect instrument for me for many years, and was the only bass I used on over 1000 gigs.
Download "Twin Maples" or "The Battle for Alveolar Ridge" by The Creaking Tree String Quartet to hear the bass.
I'm only selling it because I've gone back to playing Fenders, and need $ to buy a pre CBS P-bass I've come across.
Only interested in trades for classic Fenders or an old double-bass.
If you aren't familiar with Vadim Rubtsov, there's a great article and interview here: http://www.globalbass.com/archives/dec2000/vadim.htm
PM or e-mail with any questions.

PM or e-mail with any questions. | Didn't I meet you at the Komasket Festival last year? Gorgeous bass, man. Just curious - what's the weight, and the string spacing at the nt and bridge? Also, is it 9 or 18volts?
Cheers,
Cameron
