Valenti J5 #024 - $1300shipped

Sign in to disble this ad
I just received this bass in a trade from TB'r Usedtoplaymore who traded AlbatrossAudio(original owner) for it recently. It is a great bass all the way around: sound, looks, quality and playability. I am just more of a Fender Jazz guy and that's what I will be going back to after this. Here's the info, most of it from AlbatrossAudio's recent ad.

Condition: 9/10. The only cosmetic issue is the headstock has a couple of dings and at the top the finish it rubbed/flaked off. It in no way affects the sound or playability and this is still a fantastic looking bass. I almost just wanted to keep it for looks, but then I remembered I don't play in front of a mirror and I usually play with my eyes closed. After I got it today, I cleaned it and set it up with brand new DR Fatbeams. It is pretty hefty weight-wise, the body is solid and resonant. But it's not bad at all when using a Comfort Strapp or something along those lines, I will ever include one I don't use in the sale(it's the short length).

Specs:
Bubinga body with Flamed Maple top
Black Stain finish on face, Natural on back
Wenge Neck with Ebony Fretboard
EMG 40J pickup
Sadowsky 2 Band preamp
Black Hardware
Hipshot B Style Bridge
Hipshot Ultralites Tuners
Schaller StrapLocks
Contoured heel for easier access to the upper frets
TKL softcase(like Sadowsky) included

Price is starting at $1300shipped OBO.

Only(that means only!) trades I am looking for is
1. Fender American Deluxe Jazz V with a maple board. It doesn't matter if it's the older 1 string-tree or newer 2 string-tree version
2. Fender American Standard Jazz 5 string with a Maple board.

Most likely plus cash from you in both instances, how much depends on the specific bass up for trade.

Thanks for looking!

~B

Man I would love to own that bass... I drool over the pics of that thing on the Valenti site. I actually had him quote me a 4 string version of that one. Im looking for a 5, but I have to buy my Imac first.. Good luck.

No problem, got to have the mac of course!

South Bend? Irish fan? My uncle coached football there in the 90's. Been a fan ever since, especially since my school(Berklee) doesn't have a football team. haha

Take care!

Possible trade in the works already, fingers crossed.

I've been playing this Valenti all day, and it's grown on me.

Somebody is going to be VERY pleased.
