Vintage 1977 Fender Jazz Bass - Original Custom Color Black w/ Rosewood - STEALTHY

SOLD!

1977 Fender Jazz Bass
Original Custom Color Black Finish
Rosewood Board w/ White Binding & Pearl Blocks

Here's a nice, No issues, almost all original '77 Jazz. It's a really good player and it sounds fantastic! Everything is original except it has Dimarzio pots, Schaller strap locks (they are dark grey and will come with the pieces for your strap too), and the chrome pickup cover is a Fender replacement (the bridge cover is original).
Everything else is original on this bass.. finish, pickups, all hardware, screws, pickguard, everything else.

This bass didn't sit in a closet all its life, that's for sure! But it was definitely well-taken care of and shows wear in all the right spots. It has the normal dings and scratches you'd expect from a 36 year old bass that got played (and loved) a lot. It has some thumb wear between the pickups and above the thumbrest, but the wood is not gouged, it's just finish wear. It has a lot of finish checking on the body and the headstock and tons of '70s vibe.

The neck plays like butter, it's straight, the truss rod works fine.
The frets are original and in very good shape with lots of life left.
There are a few dings on the back of the neck (see pics). Nothing that bothers me personally while playing.

Serial #: S733XXX (dates to '77). The sticker on the underside of the pickguard also matches the headstock.
Pickup code is: 51277 (dates to '77). The original pickups are strong and loud.
Please look at all the pics of the bass disassembled in the photo album link below.

Overall, this is a great vintage bass that has awesome mojo, it feels amazing, and it's a tone monster!
The bass weighs 10.5-11 lbs. on my bathroom scale.
Comes with the original hard shell case in nice condition.

Very nice. Are the knobs original ?
If this were a 4-bolt, I'd be all over it.

Yeah, the knobs are original. They changed to these knobs (with the volume/tone/numbers on them) in late '76.

I have the absolute twin of this bass! It's even a '77... A fantastic instrument to be sure.

Yes, still for sale. I've had some interest in it, but nothing for sure yet.
