SOLD! Vintage 1979 Rickenbacker 4001 Bass
Jetglo Black Finish
This classic 4001 bass is 33 years old and it's in awesome condition!
Everything is in perfect working condition and completely original down to the screws.
NO cracks, NO extra holes or routes, NO repairs, NO mods.
The bound, rosewood neck feels amazing! It's nice and straight with low action and no dead spots. Super comfy!
Original frets are great shape with very little wear. It has probably always been strung with flatwounds (which is what it has now).
Dual truss rods function fine and have lots of room for future adjustments.
Serial #: SL 58XX - Dates to '79.
Pots codes are: R13779XX - Dates to '79.
All solder joints are original and untouched.
All original hardware.
Original Jetglo Black finish and bound body.
Ric-O-Sound outputs work great in mono and in stereo like they should.
Bass is nice and lightweight at 9 lbs.
It has some dings and scratches (almost exclusively on the back of the body) and a small area of buckle rash (see pics), but the front of the bass still looks incredible! It has been very-well taken care of over the years and it plays beautifully! And it sounds absolutely awesome too!
This bass has been setup and intonated and it's ready to rock!
Comes with a nice, non-original hard shell case in very good condition. $1795
