Vintage 1980/82 Fender Bullet Bass Deluxe, model B40 with Darkstar +upgrades!!

Sign in to disble this ad
Up for sale is a Vintage 1980/82 USA Fender Bullet Bass Deluxe (Serial #E005991) which has been upgraded with the following modifications.

New - Darkstar DS-3N pickup
New – Hipshot “A style” bridge
New – Red tortoise shell pickguard
New – Barrel knobs/wiring shielding kit
New – Bone nut

The work was done by a professional luthier here in NY.
This bass is in EXCELLENT condition. The condition of this bass is remarkable for a bass that is 27+ years old. This bass plays and sounds fantastic!!!The one piece Maple neck is in fantastic shape, the original frets are showing no signs of wear, the neck is straight, truss rod functions perfect and is not driven way up inside the neck, the edges of the neck have no finish wear or chipping that is so common on vintage maple necks and there is no string damage or finish wear on the finger board.
The body has the original paint finish that is still smooth and glossy but it has taken on an orange peel look to it from the bass sitting in its case for most of its life. There are a few very small dents and some very small scratches here and there but none that have removed finish or paint to the bare wood.
This is what was called a B-40 model, It is a FULL 34 inch scale like the b-34 model. The neck has a very nice skunk strip running down the back and the decal is perfect.
This is a nice light bass with great balance to it and I would guess it is the range of about 8 – 8 1/2 pounds.

All original parts are included in the sale.

The original HSC is included, the case has its share of nicks and scrapes but it is still structurally sound and all the hinges and clasps work fine with the exception of 1 clasp which is broken.

Price reduced to $750:00 - Was asking $850.00 shipped (CONUS only).

How does it look underneath without a pickguard?

Yeah seriously. NOT saying this is the case with the OP, but sometimes I feel like people just put things up to get a kick out of a few compliments and then take it down when they had no intention of ever selling (save for a ridiculously good offer). Oh well, 'twas a nice bass, just sour grapes on my part
