1984 L2000
This one is early enough to still have the original L2000 Series-E coil tap layout of single coil/dual parallel; which I much prefer over the later dual parallel/dual series.
1 11/16 width nut, which is my all time G&L fave; a very comfortable width on a not very deep shallow C profile.
This one has been played a lot, has mucho mojo, finish checking in the laquer and various nicks and dings. Quite frankly, I really like that! Used to be Olympic White, but the finish has yellowed a lot with time, which I also like. The fingerboard has some nice flaming to the maple.
Please note: someone, at some point in time, rounded off the trussrod bullet such that the proper 1/8" allen wrench doesn't work so well. However, they also removed the trussrod bullet and modified it such that a straight blade screwdriver works just fine. This is not so scenic up close, but not noticable from any distance, and it is completely functional. A new trussrod bullet can be purchased direct from G&L if you find this to be aesthetically offensive.
Comes with an off brand gig bag, but will be packed well.

The 1981 version of this bass (that I had to sell when I went unemployed 18 months ago) was my main touring axe for many, many years. The early L2000 is one of my favorite all time basses...

| | | | Hi, Chef. By any chance would you be intersted in a straight trade for a 2003 L2k fretless in excellent condition? I put it up on the board last night. |
