Warmoth Alder body Wenge neck

Sign in to disble this ad
How-D-Ya'll. I've got my mint just put together 1.5 months ago Warmoth Jazz bass. Full Wenge neck (best neck ever!)& alder body with a tobacco burst finish. graph tech TUXQ XL nut, Hipshot string retainer & brass vintage bridge. Grover titan tuners & schaller strap locks. The pickups are Seymour Duncan Antiquity II Jazz bass pickups. Shes loud, warm, punchy, very throaty & growly. Deep tight bass notes cut through 2 prog metal guitars like a rhino at practice & my guitarist said they couldn't hear what they we're playing because my sound was laying on top of them? I thought it was awesome! I'm a G&L freak & I want another L-2000. I'm not 100% sure I wana let it go yet but try & convince me. Your trade must be a G&L L-2000, L-1000 or SB-2 with a #8 or #6 neck. No P-bass necks which my current L-2000 has. Other than that it's $900 OBO shipped... It's a bit more brownish than the redish orange shown in the pics.

That's sick! Probably one of the best Warmoth's I've ever seen. I miss mine...

Thanks onemorerobot. I'm still having a hard time thinking about letting go of this one. Am I just stupid? Should I just keep her.

In my experience, especially with a Warmoth that nice, I would just keep it unless you can get exactly the trade you want. Warmoths seem to have almost no market value despite their quality.

Man, this is a perfect candidate for a set of G&L MFD humbuckers! You can put the outer coils in the current J-pickup positions and go single-coil for a KILLER Super Jazz tone, and you'll have a slightly different sound from your L2000.

I'm working on a similar idea for a 5-string...

I thought about it, if I did I'd buy another warmoth body & do it that way. I realy don't wana mess up it's mojo. I found myself playing things I never thought about playing before when I finished building it. the neck & tone are so awesome. I also can't seem to find G&L L-2000 guts (preamp) anywhere only the pickups.

Yeah, I've gotten burned on most of the warmoths I've bought. Just the way of the world! Good quality stuff, tho.

I hear to you there... My 11-year-old Warmoth Jazz has the mojo and refuse to change *anything* on it for that reason. Who cares if it's heavy - I won't risk changing it.

As for the preamp, I might be able to hook you up...

Either way, good luck.
