Hey all,
I have been bitten by the Cirrus bug so I need to raise funds and let this bass go.
It is a Warmoth 5 string medium Gecko, with sunset orange body and wenge neck.
I got the bass with 2 bart soapbar pickups installed, but have since made some mods and changed the pickups to a Nordstrand MM5.2 with a Nordstrand 3 band Pre that has Volume (with push/pull actice/passive), Mid (with push/pull Freq), and Bass/Treble stack. The silver 3-way switch is wired for Series/Single Coil/Parallel wiring. The black switch is currently not wired to anything.
I took a pic showing the body without pickguard to show how I routed it for MM pickup.
I modified a Jazz pickguard to cover the Soapbar routes. Its not perfect but gets the job done.
Has Gotoh tuners, and a Hipshot style A bridge. I also put a custom decal on the headstock.
also took a pic to show slight finish cracks on rear near string through ferrils.
Gecko details from Warmoth:
"•Nut width: 1 7/8" (47.6mm)
•Width at 24th fret: 3" (76.2mm)
•String pitch @ the bridge: 3/4" (19.0mm)
•Straight 14" (355.60 mm) fingerboard radius
This neck features generous right hand spacing and a fairly narrow nut for fingerstyle players wanting the versatility of a low B without a huge neck. Fretted notes are easily within reach of the left hand, but there’s still room for traditional fingerstyle technique. The best of both worlds in a comfortable package."
Ships in a nice padded gig-bag for
$575
now for some pics :-)
