Warmoth Jazz 5 - Trans Black, Blocks & Binding

This was formerly Adrian Garcia's bass and was assembled by Carey Nordstrand. It has been an incredile player for me and has outlasted a lot of incredible basses that have passed through my hands in the last few years. To be honest, I never paid much attention to the pickups and electronics, because they sound great and perform flawlessly, but if I remember correctly it has an Audere preamp and possibly Dimarzio pickups. It also has the nifty passive/active switch.
To me this is a special bass for a few reasons. It's a real player with a terrific jazz bass tone and rivals instruments from the Fender custom shop. It's also a reminder of a friend and tremendous person who is sadly no longer with us. I hate to sell it, but the days of holding on to a large numer of basses are probably over for me, and I'm trying some different instruments to shake things up.
I work all the time and this bass has been played and has a few nicks in the finish on the sides. It has a very nice birdseye neck and board with black blocks and binding. The neck is very stable. It comes with a new SKB hardshell case, and I'm looking for $1200.00 shipped.
Here are some pics.

Hey man, the low B is awesome on this bass. I sold a very impressive group of 5 and 6 strings a while back, and this bass was the one I kept. I'm very particular about my B strings, and this bass is the real deal. I'll dig up some sounds! The pre is pretty versatile, and you can always go passive with the flick of a switch.

Replied to some PMs and whatnot! Here are a few bad video clips of the bass in action. Unfortunately all taken with cameras with poor sound response- ah well, they are what they are! Working on digging up better recordings. You can't really here the very cool and versatile mid range on this bass in these clips. It really gives this jazz its voice. Also, weighed this and I get 9.5 pounds give or take a few ounces.

Feel free!
Okay, so I am an idiot! I popped the back plate and saw that the pre is an East! Of course I remembered once I saw it. I'm pretty sure it's a J-Retro 1 Deluxe.

That's an amazing bass! Just the way it should be...
Dimarzio + East + Warmoth + Nordstrand + Blocks and binding =
FREAKING AWESOME!

Someone buy this before I start questioning my OWN jazz basses

And it's a U-Retro Dlx. Same as the J retro, but not on a plate.

Really? I have a Warmoth Deluxe 5 very similar and it's 34", same as the Fender Deluxe 5.
  • Standard Deluxe 5 String Bass Guitar Neck Features
  • 34" scale with 22 frets
  • 10" radius fretboard - 1/4" thick
  • Triple reinforced truss rod system
  • 5-in-line pegheads have 14mm machine holes for Gotoh GB7 Tuners
  • 4+1 peghead has 17mm machine holes for Schaller BML Lite Tuners
  • Asymmetric back shape

My bass has EMG's and no inlays but the woods and hardware are the same as the OP's bass. Its B string slays - good luck with the sale and RIP AG.

Their Gecko necks are 35" scale, all their deluxe series necks (such as this one) are 34".

Hey folks! I had to pick up and move suddenly because I came home to find a nice foreclosure notice on my door! Evidently the landlord thought paying the mortgage with my rent was an optional thing for the past few months. I just got internet at the new place.
Answered some PMs. Sorry I was out of touch, but I am back now. Still need to sell this bass, unfortunately. I'll get back with the nut width. I am pretty sure as stated above that this is a 34".

Man, I look at this bass almost daily. Its so gorgeous. I wonder how it would sound through an Ampeg playing heavier sounds.

I assume if its 34" and Jazz bass bassed that the neck is thin and fast just as any jazz bass??

Answered some PMs, sorry for the delay. I've been a little behind because of my move. The neck on his bass is not the typical jazz neck imo. It's a bit deeper and the spacing is wide at, I believe, 19mm. It's a very comfortable neck, and I enjoy the wider spacing because it really allows me to dig in. If you are into shallow, narrow necks though, it might not be the right fit. My other bass is a Modulus Q5, and I make the transition between the two without a problem, though the neck profiles are very different.
