EDIT: NOW FT ONLY.
Got this bass a few months ago from a fellow TB'er. It's amazing, but I'm giving more attention to my other basses, and this one deserves to be played. This is a top of the line Warmoth body (I think it's alder but not 100% certain) & neck. It has Sadowsky hum cancelling pickups (passive) and a classic style C shape, 21 fret, Jazz Bass neck. It is a maple neck (clear gloss finish) with a rosewood fret board and pearloid binding and inlay. It has a fender jazz decal and Fender plate. The hardware is Schaller, with vintage style threaded bridge, and it is a HOT Daphne blue. I would give her a 8 out of 10 on condition...she's a players bass. It has a big ding on the bottom side (the white spots in the pic are glares) and some buckle rash and dings on the back (also see in pics), nothing too bad. The neck and front of the bass look new, and althought it was really hard to make the imperfections show up in pics...they are there. The bass has low action and sounds killer.
To put this bass together new would cost you over $1000.

Although the color looks very different in the 2 settings.
Which one is more "real"?
Als, what is the little decal on the back of the headstock?
Thanks!
Mark

Mark | The brighter color is a more accurate depiction, it really pops in person. The first pic is probably what it would look like with 10 more years of playing on it. I used the pics from the original FS thread that I bought it from, so don't ask me why the first pic looks different.
A few more things: The Fender decal on the headstock is on top of the finish, it will come off fairly easy if you want it to. The little decal on the back of the neck is indeed a Warmoth turtle. Also on top of the finish, looks like vinyl. Would come off with the swipe of a thumbnail.
PS: In the right atmosphere, I'd be willing to let go of the neck and keep the body. I REALLY like the color. |

I just got finished with a Warmoth build and am once again reminded how authoritative and even across the scale Warmoth necks are. I've got some superb basses, but when I rolled the new Warmoth out last weekend, everyone in my band noticed the cool way it showed up in the mix - not too loud, but very distinct and very musical. Bump for Warmoths are among the unsung heros of the bass world. This one is a steal for the price!
