I have a well used, "reliced", 1998 FNA Jazzman 5 string for sale. I bought this bass a few years ago as a project, here's what I did:
The original gold hardware was heavily tarnished so I ordered new chrome hardware from Warwick and replaced it all.
I've never been a big fan of MEC electronics, and since a couple of the pots were scratchy, I replaced all the electronics. It has a Bartolini 2 band, active/passive, 9volt preamp, a Seymour Duncan basslines humbucker, and a Dimarzio jazz pickup in the neck position. Control cavity is fully shielded.
It had a plain white corian nut on it and I ordered a just-a-nut 3 and installed it.
Warwicks are unique in that by taking the nut off, and releiving the tension on the truss rod, the rod slides right out. Makes them easy to replace and service. I removed this one when I first got the bass to inspect it. It is in good working order with no rust or corrosion, so I lubed the threads and put it back in.
This is one of the older Warwicks with the wenge/wenge neck. Sounds and plays great.
Cosmetically it is NOT 100%. There are lots of dings and dents, belt buckle rash, and what looks like a rash from a studded bracelet on the front. The headstock has multiple cymbal dings in the top, and the switch that splits the humbucker is not wired into the circuit. Im sure it could be done, I just never did it.
I sent pictures of this thing to the chief luthier @ Dana B Goods, the old Warwick distributer, and he commented that some companies charge a lot of money to "relic" a guitar like this.
Although it was my main gigging bass for over three years, I'm selling this bass because I fell in love with Modulus basses. I now have 2 Flea 5 string basses and I never play the Warwick.
So there it is. No playing or operational issues at all, but not shiny and new.
$850.00 shipped as is.
$600.00 shipped without the pickups or preamp.
Shipping is to the lower 48 only, no international shipping. Sorry.
