Warwick Fortress 1 fretless 5 string

Sign in to disble this ad
Price reduction 700 shipped conus.
If you want the older Warwick vibe, this is it.
This Fortress 1 was made in West Germany in 1994. I had the frets removed and inlays done by a luthier in this area. The finger board is wenge (quite hard) which gives a woody dark sound. Strong fundamental, solid B string. Good combination with the jazz type EMGs. I like the way this fretless plays and sounds better than the factory fretless with an ebony fingerboard.
I play mostly fretless and I went to a 6 string a while ago so this one needs to go to someone who will play it.
It has typical gig wear for a bass this age. It comes with the Warwick gig bag.
I'm asking 800 shipped conus.

The pickups are MEC. The fingerboard is not finished. The wenge is really hard and doesn't groove very easily.

Groove as in string groove. Otherwise grooves fine.

Still for sale. Trades could be a Conklin Gt7 or maybe fretted 6 strings. Open to offers. I think I am priced right.

It weighs about 8.5 pounds and has 16.5 mm spring spacing at the bridge.

Try this link.

Hari Om has some higher solos
Calling the Spirits has an ostinato groove.
Lokah has some fills with the violin.
Let me know if you can't open.
