Warwick Fortress for trade or sale.

This bass was made in 1997 and is in very good condition. The frets have a little wear, but have plenty of meat left. Nice low action with no fret buzz. It has some nicks and dings, but nothing major, and no wood is missing.

The MEC pickups and electronics are long gone. They were replaced with an EMG P/J active set and an EMG BTS Control active EQ. These modifications really opened up the tonal qualities of this bass.

Here are the specs;
3 piece Wenge neck
Wenge fretboard
24 bell brass frets
Ash body
EMG P/J active pickups
EMG BTS control active EQ (Seperate bass and treble controls)
2 volume controls (1 for each pickup)
Recessed Schaller Straplocks

The neck has a Jazz bass taper to it. EQ and pickups are wired for 18 volts.

NOTE: This is NOT a Rockbass, it is a true Warwick.

It comes with a nice padded Warwick Gigbag, Schaller recessed straplocks, and The Warwick wax.

The only reason I am puting this bass up for trade is because I would like to try something different.

What I'm looking for in a trade would be;

Yamaha Attitude Limited or Limited II
Gibson Ripper
Gibson G-3
70's Fender Precision
Rickenbacker 4001
Or ????

My number 1 choice is a Yamaha Attitude (Limited or Limited II) but I will consider other basses.

PM me with what you have to offer. Please send pics and a description with your offer.

Here are some pics.

I have bought and sold many instruments on ebay and have 100% feedback rating there.

Moving it out already?

(Gotta give you a little flak.)

Good luck on the sale JP. And for reference, this guy's great to deal with or just even talk to, a great source of information.

Excellent basses. I have the Masterman version... If I had the copius amounts of money, I would buy this just to hear the difference, but the truth is I don't need it. Free Bump!

Actually Tryxx, I just want to try something different.

This bass sounds awesome. The EMG pickups and EQ definately make the bass sound great. It still has a nice growl, but can also get mellow.

Aesthetically, the Fortress has always been my favourite Warwick. I still dream about that green retro one with the white pearloid pickguard and the lipstick pups.

I imagine that bass sounds great, but anything is a step above the MEC's at least. :lol:
