Waterstone Indra short scale semi-hollow

Sign in to disble this ad
Price: $350 shipped in the continental US of A - SOLD!

This bass has mainly been a practice/noodle around bass for me. I have gigged with it a few times, but it has rarely left the house. Not a thing wrong with it, and I like it very much, only selling to raise some $$ so I can buy another Azola. The bass is in excellent shape and will ship in an ok gig bag. No hardshell case, sorry. No trades - cash only.

This is an earlier version than the bass currently offered on the Waterstone website (modguitars.com) and sold for around $675 at Musicians Fiend a few years ago, if I recall correctly. I don't know what is different between the versions other than the pickguard color.

Specs as stated on modguitars.com (with some corrections) are:

Semi-hollow, flat top, set neck
Body Size: 13 ½"W x 16 ¾"L x 2" Thick
Pickups: 2 bass Humbucker
Controls: I think the controls are V-V-T
Bridge: Bass-o-matic
Nut Width: 1 5/8", bone
Scale Length: 762mm (30")
Frets: 21
Neck Style: Slim
Unique Features: Short scale, semi-hollow, Vintage tone and feel.

Sorry for the glare in the photos - black is difficult to photograph with my limited skills and camera.

Very well-made at this price. The binding detail is excellent.

It's not a lightweight, but I've never weighed it - I'll try to do that tomorrow.

Neck dive is not an issue.

Sorry, haven't gotten it to a scale yet. I'm guessing around 9 - 9.5 lbs.

Thanks, but with my bad spine that is too much weight, but it's really a great looking bass.

Could you measure the nut width to verify that it is 1.5inches? (I had seen some elsewhere that said they had 1.75in nut width.) I'm asking because I really only like narrow nut width and want to be sure and you indicate that the specs come from the website with the current model.
Thanks

Nut width by my measurement is 1 5/8" so the website specs were inaccurate. I prefer a narrow nut width too, but I find that the nut width on short scale basses is not as critical and a little wider width (such as 1 5/8") is actually better. IMHO.

I have to say, I own one of these, and it's one of my main players. I too prefer J style necks, but this bass is just SO playable! It feels great. I have mine strung with LaBella Beatle flats and it's a match made in heaven - the semi-hollow body provides a huge sound.

Anyway, someone will be happy with this bass at this price, I guarantee it.

Yeah, it's an odd length because it's a shorty with that type of bridge setup (no idea what it's called). Hofner strings are perfect.

It fits in a guitar gig bag, by the way, which is what I'd recommend. The one that comes with the bass is just okay, as Dave said.

And I just happen to have a set of LaBella Beatle Bass flats sitting around that I haven't gotten around to putting on my Icon!

It's currently strung with GHS Brite Flats - you might find that you like them. They are a "ground round" or "half round" type string so they have a little brighter tone than flats.

Anyway, this bass is SOLD and will be on the way to TobyBass55!

Great! Actually, I'm curious to try the ground rounds. My bass teacher suggested them to me just this week when I mentioned I was thinking of getting flats the for my current bass.
