For sale is a very clean Westone Raider made in 1983 in Japan at the legendary Matsumoku factory. The bass comes in the form fitted OHSC. This thing screams 80's metal. It is beautifully ugly. I mean that. Check it out!
Like all Matsumoku's the build quality is exceptional. Real triangle shaped inlays, brass nut and bridge and very big tone from the precision pickups.
This bass has a really amazing finish as the pictures show. There are also some very cool design features. Note the notched headstock much like that on the later Washburn M series made famous by Peter Steele of Type O Negative. The short body gives this the feeling of a smaller guitar but it is full scale. Very well balanced. Just a cool bass all around.
The bass is in great condition. Except for having been in a few smoky clubs in its day and a couple of light dings that are barely perceptible due to the "loud" finish (pictured below in extreme closeup) this bass is near perfect.
I am pricing this to sell quickly as I am planning on leaving for the holidays on the 23rd -- $275 shipped in the CONUS gets you this bass. There usually go for over three bills in worse shape, so I think that is a fair ask.
Feel free to PM me questions or best offers.
Thanks and enjoy the pics-- they are in high res and ample!
