FS/T Phil Jones Six Pack for 60's or 70's P-Bass or Kubicki x factor

Looking to trade my immaculate Phil Jones Six Pack combo for a 1960's or 70's Fender P-bass. The amp is in perfect almost unplayed condition and is a marvel of modern technology!

I'm sure most of you have heard of PJB and been curious about the 5 inch speakers and the awesome sound they produce. Well I am here to tell you it's all true! These amps are awesome and completely underrated. I originally purchased the amp to use with my upright bass in a rockabilly slap setting, valuing both it's size and tonal quality. The amp sounded amazing when I first tried it with the various electric solid body basses at my local music shop and was initially impressed enough to drag my upright down and give it a whirl. Needless to say I put money down on it that night and looked forward to taking my new toy home with me.

I am still blown away by the quality of the build on this awesome amp...some of it's features include military grade switches, 2% silver solder to reduce resistance thus improving sound not to mention never failing due to oxidation or corrosion of the solder joints. Then you have the 2.5mm chassis for superior grounding and further noise reduction, the PJB speak-on cable which is almost and inch thick! The telescoping handle and the tilt back wheels make it a breeze to travel with and the handles on the top and sides make it easy to move it around and at under 85 pounds it won't break your back. Then you get into the MOS-FET power amp which runs efficiently and with so much range and clarity you can push it to it's limits and have tons of headroom for distortion free bass goodness! Use that in conjunction with the parametric eq and 12 band graphic eq as well as the world class compressor and your tonal possibilities are endless. The little speakers move so fast there is no need for a tweeter to get those high notes, at least that's what Phil Jones told me when I called him to ask about using the amp for my upright. He told me the speakers move at such a high rate of speed that they could easily hit those notes. He was right as I could get all the slap and treble sound I wanted out of my upright or my jazz bass but still it was too fancy to justify keeping it and never using it. I just could not find my sound with this amp and I realized that I am not a fancy player that needs all the adjustability and bells and whistles. I just need a good mellow bass tone and I get that with my ampeg rig. I just can't get away from that ampeg tube sound and with my upright it just works perfectly.

The amp is rated at 500 watts and with the addition of an extension cab I think it will push around 700. Check the PJB website for specific info and user manual etc. I will ship and I have a box and packing material ready to go but expect the shipping charges to be around 100 dollars or more. I will know exactly when I pack it up. I will only ship to North America and will only accept postal money orders or certified check sorry no paypal. Please direct any and all questions either through TB or to this email:

I am in Greensboro, NC if you want to come buy and play it or pick it up.

I might also consider a kubicki x factor or rack mount or stomp box stereo pre amps for upright bass other fancy basses. Or I will take 1500 USD.
