WTT: Rare Benavente Custom5 for your Fretless 5'er

SOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLD

Up FT is truly a one-of-a-kind piece. This bass is a Benavente Greg Edmundson Custom 5.
This bass features an Amber tinted Spalted Maple top and matching spalt pickups and headstock, Maple back, 24-fret Maple board, 7-piece neck (maple/wenge/maple/purpleheart/maple/wenge/maple) with abalone blocks and a brass nut, and a truly unique body shape reminiscent of a mix of both a Carl Thompson and the Benavente "SCA" body shape.

Weighs 10 pounds with Black Hipshot "A" bridge and keys with inset Dunlop straplocks.

Pickups are custom Aeros wired SERIES ONLY at Mike Lulls recommendation; tried Nordstrand dual coils and these pickups just "worked" better .Preamp is a custom 18V Audere wired volume/tone, balance, bass, mid treble , Z-mode switch, active passive switch.

This bass is no longer produced by Benavente. Per Brian Barrett at the Low End, retail of a new piece like it by Chris Benavente would hit somewhere in the $5k range, as built by Divinity Guitar Works.

First pic was immediately after preamp install. I have both original knobs and Sadowsky style aluminum knobs. Audere preamp power light installed just under the bridge, will try to get a pic of the bass with the light on. This new preamp kills

Looking for a 5 string fretless around $2400, This is the price with the brand new Audere 18V preamp and Aero pickups.

That Benny is one of the best feeling basses I've ever owned. The build quality on it is fantastic.

You know it man, I just played this bass last night at a state fair gig on the bill with Chevelle(and other one hit wonder bands from 10 years ago), sounded great!
