For Sale: 1978 Yamaha BB1200 Made in Japan
This is a beautiful and 98% original (strap pins were changed) Yamaha BB1200 like what MACCA played in Wings (except not lefty). Everything works well on this bass. Pickups are strong and have a fantastic tone that is like a nicely focused P with great top-end extension because of the reverse P configuration. Neck is in great shape and frets are in good shape as well. The nut width is 1.75". I have had quite a few MIJ BB's and this has been my favorite one of all. I am building up my home studio and need to sell this beauty to fund some things.

The body really is in fantastic shape for its age. The serial number was scratched off and I purchased the bass from the seller like this. It was apparently a family dispute and a long story, so PM me if you have questions.

Comes in a new Access gig bag.

PRICE: $550 shipped in the Con. USA (This was sold but I told the buyer the wrong width size at the nut. I agreed to accept the return and now it is back for sale.)

Thought it was gone but due to my mistake on guessing on the nut width, she's back!

The nut width is 1.75" and is correctly mentioned in the listing.

I was the buyer that just picked it up. It sounds FANTASTIC and everything was perfect for me except the nut width. Even with the wider nut than I like the playability was great!

If it had a 1.5 neck I'd have kept it and would have sold my P.

Thanks Joel for staying positive and for posting your vote of confidence. This really is a fantastic bass, I just am playing J's and needed money for my studio. Only reason I sold it.

Awesome bass. That's the "Macca" model.
These things record like a dream---I've owned 2 over the years.
If I was in the market for another P-like bass I'd buy it--great price.

These do record like a dream! I've owned tons of MIJ BBs and this is my favorite of them all. Too bad I'm trying to build up my home studio.
