PRICE DROP!!
As you may have caught on by now, I'm letting go of most of my old Yamaha basses. If I'm not going to play them, I'm putting them in the hands of somebody that will. $550 with Spector gig bag.
Here's a sunburst one that's in good shape. Not mint, not quite great. It has it's share of bumps, bruises, dings. Whatever you want to call them. However, none bust the clear coat and it sounds fantastic. It also has one of those funny serial numbers that starts with a letter instead of a number. The tuners are Fender type but I don't see any evidence of them being changed out with other holes not lining up.
Everything works as it should. IMO it could use a fret dress and there's plenty of fret there to do that. It's totally playable now just like it is.
no intl please.

I had one of these back in the Eighties, and I truly have fond memories of it. One day, a BB2000 will turn up and I will be ready to make my move!

This is classic Smooth Jazz by Lee Ritenour and Casiopea. The bassist is rocking a BB2000. These basses have wonderful finger and slap tones. I think a reverse P-pup gives much funkier slap tone than a traditionally placed split pickup.
BTW, the fingerboards on these basses are ebony.

Also to hear this bass at its best, go to "Junkanoo Holiday", "I Believe in Love", "This is It" by the Kenny Loggins band from Kenny Loggins Alive. George Hawkins Jr. is a great and under appreciated bassist. I learned a lot from that cat just by listening to that double album from 1980. There should be some YouTube stuff showing him playing the natural version of this bass.
Striped ebony fretboard
Maple/Mahogany/Maple Neck Thru design
Alder sides
Ivory nut
Passive Vol-Tone-Toggle for pu selection
Smooth accurate tuners
Weighs 9.7 lbs
This model is the best non active 4 string bass I ever experienced. You get best of both worlds. The bridge Bar Magnet pickup is as funky as it gets.

You just simply can't go wrong buying this bass for this price! DO IT! | Yep, what he said!
Btw on mine I always thought I had a rosewood fretboard but it's striped exactly like this one for sale. Now I think it's a variety of ebony called 'Macassar ebony', I have it also on my Alembic.
