Yamaha BB425 5 string

$275 + actual shipping

Very nicely built inexpensive 5er. This one is white, neck has tight string spacing and is very svelte. Pickups are P and J, a very nice combination. Tight B string.

Weighs under 10 lbs, ships in a G and G hardshell case with a broken handle.

In very good condition, but came to me with a little damage from a straplock installation. Pictures to follow. Price is firm.

Will consider trades, but the list is short.

What color is it? Burst, red, black, or white? Where are you in AZ, and will you consider local pick-up pricing?

I'm really surprised you can't find anything on these basses here. Everytime someone brings up a passive 5 string, a 34 scale 5 string with a solid B string, a P/J 5 string, etc these things always get brought up.

I own the model up, the BB1025X, and its quite awesome. Best neck I've ever played and the best sounding B I have played (34 or 35 scale).

If you want more options that come with an active bass then maybe its not for you. I however love the tone I get from this thing that I have not been able to find else where. Really beefy but sharp, aggressive, and lively.

Agreed, especially regarding the B string. Amazing product. But I am not doing 5ers right now.

I actually wound up going with the BB424X, because I just don't use a 5er enough, and I really like this bass. If I were looking for a five, this thread would have been closed three weeks ago after a local pick-up.

Shameless plug and free bump for a nice guy and a fellow desert rat.
