Ok guys, you all know what these basses are:
Workhorses, nothing fancy but solid, reliable and dependable.
This one is a players bass- its not abused but its not mint either. There are surface dings on the front and some on the back as well.
I'm moving it for several reasons. First, I find I'm using my passives more & more. Second-I have a couple of other basses that do the P-J thing very well. Third, my amp rig needs upgrading so I have to pass long some gear I just dont use to pick up stuff I need.
The finish on this is called vintage yellow but given that the body wood is alder, it almost looks like its a clear natural.
The neck is maple with a rosewood board and some interesting inlays.
The neck profile is more jazz-like than P-like to me. Its very easy to play. Its just about 1 5/8 at the nut and weighs in at about 9.4 lbs-not an anchor but not a featherweight either.
This is the active-only version and everything is stock. V/B and 3 band EQ controls. P-J pickups. The J has a blade magnet and is VERY hot when you solo it. This one is just a few years old and its a non-reverse P pickup.
I got this bass about a year ago here on TB and the only things I've done to it were to change the battery and strings.
The neck has stayed remarkably true- I havent had to touch the trussrod at all.
Here are a few pics: the last 2 are my attempts to show the dings on the front and back:
As far as what I'm looking for, for sale $
300 280 OBO shipped in the CONUS. It'll be shipped in a mediocre but serviceable gigbag and securely boxed.
OR as trade bait:
a solid 8 ohm, 410 cab (Carvin, SWR, Hartke, etc) in full working condition. I'm not worried if its not pristine cosmetically, but it HAS to work properly.
or a good reliable, loud amp head- (Eden, Carvin, GK, etc)
I can add a SMALL amount of cash if necessary.
***EDIT- I have posted another bass for sale/trade-once one sells or is traded the other one will be "off the market"- the other one is a Peavey T-20***
For a cab deal, I'd prefer to keep it more local to avoid shipping charges. I'm in western CT and I can drive to SE NY, western MA and possibly RI or very northern NJ to get a deal done.
