Yamaha Custom Shop JM6 with MIDI & Axon

From what I've been told, this was a prototype for the John Myung bass and was converted for Todd Johnson as his signature bass. I bought this from Todd a few years ago when he made the switch over to Zon. . This bass was made by the Yamaha Custom Shop and predates the Myung production models.

Here are the specs:
- Alder body / flame maple top
- Maple / ebony neck with Yamaha Fretwave frets
- Active 2 band electronics with some variation of the Nathan East EQ. There are two EQ presets that can be activated and are very musical. Switches control Q width and are very subtle.
- Yamaha MB-1 MIDI pickup with switches for patch changes and separate volume. The pickup is only active on the top three strings and is fed directly to the MIDI out.
- Three way switch controlling bass only, bass/MIDI, MIDI only.
- Playing ramp with Todd's signature
- Gigbag
- I am also including an AXON AX100 II for a complete MIDI bass rig.

The bass plays incredibly and is very versatile with all the onboard EQ options. It is getting on in years and there are a few bumps and bruises. Nothing structural and mostly on the sides and back.

I never really liked the purple color, but it sounded so great and played so well that I had to have it. It's been a great bass and I'm only selling it because I've built a few other basses and will be hanging on to them instead.

Price is $2000. The AXON goes for @ $650 alone. Ground shipping in CONUS included. Contact me for other shipping requests. I'm not that interested in trades right now, but if you have another one of a kind instrument (6 string preferred) let me know.

This is a unique opportunity for someone to get a midi-setup with a nice bass. I was never a big fan of the JM model basses but with those upgrades I'm guessing this is a BIG improvement and well worth it with everything factored in.

That's the Yamaha Fretwave system. It is supposed to make the bass play better in tune in the lower position.

Still for sale, BTW!!!

Their version of the Buzz Feiten thing, according to Todd.
