YAMAHA Vintage Motion-B M-II Short Scale Bass

Sign in to disble this ad
SOLD!

This is a rare late 80's/early 90's Yamaha Motion-B MBII short scale bass. Lavender Pearl finish, lightweight and super fast neck. Surprisingly fat tone from such a small instrument. I originally bought this for my daughter, but it's still a bit too big for her (went with a Samick Corsair mini-bass instead).

Condition is good - very good. Just light nicks and scratches from normal use/age. No big uglies, no cracks or dents.

Going to borrow from swpyne's excellent info (from a previous classified ad):

The Yamaha Motion-B MII was one of the first instruments made in Taiwan after Yamaha moved it's manufacturing there from Japan. The build quality is excellent and certainly equal IMO to the basses built in Japan. Electronics are a pair of passive Yamaha soapbars with V/V/T knobs like a traditional jazz bass layout. The scale on this bass appears to be between 32" and 33". The string spacing at the bridge is 19mm.

Selling for $350 $300 shipped in the US. International shipping is no problem, just PM me for a quote.

Just a little bump to let people know that these are EXCELLENT basses... Great feel, awesome tone and excellent playability. If it were possible right now I'd add this one to go with my black one...they really kick ass.

The very 1st bass I bought new back in the late 80's. Mine was white and was AWSOME!
FWI-- the bass ia actually medium scale (32") not short scale (30")
