Hey guys...another of my closet finds!! Check this one out.
Its a Made In Japan 1975 Greco Lawsuit Precision Bass (Matusmoku) in superb shape! In a million years you wouldn't think this is a 36 year old bass!! I got it from a gentleman who says he's owned it since new in '76. He states that he thinks its all original, although I can't confim that...I'm not a Greco expert nor did I dis-assemble it. Sure looks all orig though...right down to the pickguard and the knobs.
The neck is very high gloss maple front and rear with just about NO wear on it....nice skunk stripe. The nut is 1.6". Truss rod is located on the heel. The neck looks super straight. The high gloss headstock is even clean with no dents on the end. Has bigass open tuners, and the bridge and pup covers even look like new.
It sounds as good any expensive vintage 60-70's Precision I've ever played! HUGE and fat sounding...this thing SCREAMS MOTOWN!! The action is great and is very low..its a pleasure to play.
The color is a gorgeous shade of silver with a slight tint of green. Has just a few very minor imperfections that you can't even see from more than 1 foot, and is still SUPER shiney...the paint is at least a 9/10.
Comes with a decent older hard case the the seller thinks was the the original.
I'm looking at $650 for this one.
