I am the original owner of this bass, having bought it back in late 2000 iirc. I picked this as a fretted companion to my Zon Sonus 5 fretless Lightwave. I went through a number of great basses (including Sadowsky, Lakland, and others) before finding this Zon. As you can see from the pictures, it is pretty much dead mint condition. The reality is that I played my fretless almost 95% of the time, so this bass has seen very little use and no abuse.
Ash body, flame Koa top, Bartolini humbucker pickups, active preamp (vol/pan/treble/bass), black hardware, 34" scale. B string is tight and solid. The neck is incredibly straight and stable. The action is low and it is ridiculously easy to play. If you price this out on the Zon website it comes to over $4K.
This is a beautiful bass that is easy to play and sounds great. I'm only selling because I got the Sadowsky bug, and may order a custom Rob Allen fretless so something has to go.
I have extensive feedback on ebay (user: maestroX13) and can provide other recent sales references if desired (mostly for camera gear).
$1600 obo. Comes with original Zon gig bag.
