I may be interested if this is still available. A few questions - what do all of those tone controls do? How would you characterize the sound of redwood as compared with the usual suspects? And given all of that body up against the E-string past the octave, how do you find fret access to the low strings up high, particularly if playing chords that build off the E string for the root?

What a lovely, lovely instrument...all that redwood makes me feel like I'm in Humboldt County!

I'm not sure if the redwood gives a tone so much- it's a topwood, and I believe the mahogany gives the girth of the tone. Access to the upper frets is the same- unless you wrap your thumb completely around the neck and onto the fretboard or play Stanley Jordan-style, they are just as easy to access. There's videos of me playing this bass on my website that you can check out to see what I'm talking about. I find singlecuts to be easier to play, myself.

Controls are volume, blend, treble, mid, bass, active passive switch, and 3-way mid selector switch.

I'm off to NH now- I'll answer any other questions when I get back tomorrow night or Saturday morning.

Funny!

This is where I stand: The Elrick SC-4 appears to be a nice one. I'm considering several used basses in this $2200+ price range: Elrick SC-4, R-Bass SC-5, MTD 535.

It looks like I may be able to actually keep the Elrick (which would be nice) if I can get one more amp item sold, as I've sold two basses and a power amp, so I'm only going to keep this ad up for a few more days.

Buyer pulled out for the power amp, so a bump for the Elrick.
