Arrow ***** MESA WALKABOUT SCOUT 112 CAB *****

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey !
Mesa Boogie Walkabout Scout cab in excellent condition. Outside shows some signs of personality and someone with a heartbeat (as opposed to a museum piece) and inside is PERFECT. The cab speaks for itself.
You know the cab. Loud, and warm...

This is the 4 ohm cab.

$400 plus actual shipping or say $500 shipped. Have you noticed that shipping has gone up with fuel prices ?? If you live local we can meet up.

The 8 ohms are special order from Mesa, the 4 are what you'd get in a store.

There is usually a label on the back of the hanging speaker plug with a 4 or an 8 on it. I've only ever seen 4's.

Yup, 8s available on order, either when buying new or via direct replacement driver from Mesa.

I don't see a tag and my last one was an 8 ohm and my friends have 8 ohms. I guess I will have to take the front off to look at the speaker from behind...

I changed the description from "I think it's the 8ohm version" to "let's just assume it's the 4 ohm"....

If I were you I would check to be sure, unless you wanna add a refund policy to the post lol. I'd be pissed if I wanted an 8ohm cab and got 4ohms, the other way around is equally as bad :S

I don't want to destroy the cab and I can't afford to pay Mesa to check.

I will say BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK ! once it's yours, do as you wish with it. Either way, you get a GREAT cab.

If you have an ohm-meter, you can measure across the speaker plug. DC resistance is not the same as AC impedance, so an 8-ohm speaker will read somewhere between 5-6 ohms and a 4-ohm speaker somewhere between 2-3.

Speaker gasket tends to stick a little, but you can work a dull butter knife between speaker and baffle and get it to pop loose. Easy.

Speaker cab is 4 ohms for sure. My tech did the "ohm check" on the cable since I couldn't figure it out...
