I've always loved the SWR sound, but needed more power then the SM900, and the weight of the bigger SWR rigs was always too much (sm1500 weighs 67lbs)
I coupled the SWR pre amp with a 1u PEAVEY DPX 1400 watt power amp. This beast pushes 1400 watts bridged at 4 ohms, or can do stereo at 500 watts per channel. These sold for $1200 new! It's two channels and 14lbs 1 rack space, which is very rare for 1400 WATT power amp!

The unit is stored in a 2u SKB rack case. Weighs around 21lbs, can easily carry in one hand. It's been well taken care of. A few issues of note; where you plug in the power cord on the back of the power amp has a small crack. It's the plastic piece that surrounds where the plug goes into. Works fine and very minor. Also the pre amp has one knob that is slightly bent, but very minor and probably not even noticeable.
