Here is a good working condition, 46-year-old Fender Electric Instrument Co. Bassman head, rated 40 watts, with matching 2x12 cabinet, matching ceramic magnet speakers, code 328 (Utah) 431, (31st week of 64), model V12PXC3, reconed. I have owned this amp and cabinet for ten years. Little use since it was serviced several years ago.
This classic amp uses the very desirable and rarer transitional AA864 circuit, used from mid to late 64. Early in 65, Fender switched to the more common AB165, used the rest of the run for the blackface series Bassman-amp. Original tube chart is stamped (1964) "N - something", looks like J, which if correct would indicate October. Suffice to say, made in the latter half of 64.
Tolex is pretty good overall, showing normal wear for this age. One good battle scar about golf pencil size on the cab lower backside. Some dings here and there, original grill cloth with normal age wear and a few small holes. Original tail logo badges look pretty good.
As usual for this age, the old caps were dried out. Sprague AtomŽ caps and three prong cord were added. Two Svetlana 6L6GC power tubes. JAN Philips 12AT7. Two large transformers are original, codes 606426, 606430. Choke 606939 obviously a replacement. Speaker cable, heavy duty, is new. The inside chassis is pretty much original from what I can see. Inside stamp TA3764. Outside stamp NA3764. Serial number A 00450 on back. Rust on the chassis and older trannies but no sign of water damage. Mounting thumbscrews and back panel for the head and its screws look right, but are replacements. Several new screws that hold the speaker cab back plate match the originals, except they are too clean to be old. Tilt back legs: plated finish is not flaky, but they have rust, as does all of the original metal hardware.
Asking $1400 shipped CONUS. International is cool too, but you'll have to cover the difference.
