I've got a 73 V4B in great condition. I got this from a Chicago studio where it sat, almost unused, since it was purchased new. I got it as I wanted a V4B for shows, but after seeing what great shape it was in, I decided against taking it out of the house. Therefore, it's not getting much use from me.

There are lots of V4s out there, but not in this great of condition, at least not original condition. I could call up my main man Bruce at Fliptops and restore it to pristine condition, but I figured a fellow TBer would appreciate the head in it's original condition as much as I do. There are a few cosmetic scuffs on the faceplate, and one small mark in the tolex. Other than that, I can't find any cosmetic issues. There are a bunch of photos here:

The preamp tubes are original, and still sound great as they haven't been used much in 35 years. The power tubes are brand new Sovtek 7027s with less than 3 hrs on them. I just had a certified tech give it a 'once through' and he replaced two caps. He said everything else was perfect, and that this is the most un-touched, original Ampeg he's seen since the 70s.

I'm asking $900 for it. There's a dirty one with missing knobs going for $1,000 + shipping on ebay right now, so I think $900 is fair. I'll cover shipping anywhere in the US, and split the shipping costs anywhere else. It will be professionally packed and insured. Feel free to contact me with any questions. I'm mainly in need of cash, but I'll listen to intriguing trade offers...

I would be interested mostly in a short scale bass toward a partial trade. Possibly some other vintage gear (P Basses, Gibson Grabber/Ripper, etc).
