That's what I've read. It's certainly a loud 80 watts.

Nice to see one with the back cover still attached!
What kind of tubes are in it?

I believe they're EL-34's. I haven't opened it up, but I'll see if I can tell through the back grate.

Just pop that back cover off, it won't hurt anything. There's a chance that amp has the original Phillips labeled Mullard tubes in it, which are worth a pretty penny themselves.

Sorry about the delay guys.

I was able to see that the tubes are JJ EL34's. I was able to see through the vent with a flashlight, so I lucked out and didn't have to disassemble anything.

Needing to fund supplies for massage school. Shoot me an offer.

Bump for a very cool amp and some info in case it helps,

I play this model of amp often, way loud into an 8 ohm cab. A friend uses that config in a touring rock band, sounds fantastic and can hear himself fine onstage.

It's at least as loud as my LMII which I A/B'd against. That's not really a surprise considering that an 800 watt amp is only theoretically twice as loud as 80, and the LMII is solid state. I'm just saying it matches up fine in volume with amps that are considered well-powered for gigging today.

Forget about getting any gig-level volume while maintaining clean tone with the Traynor though, of course. Arguably it offers no clean sound at all.

However if you want a killer little tube amp this thing annihilates the sound of the new-school fake Traynors and the sound of most other amps too.
