3 Gallien Krueger MBE cabs

Sign in to disble this ad
***All 3 cabinets have been traded or sold.

I have 3 Gallien Krueger MBE cabs for sale. I purchased them new a few weeks ago. The store I bought them from only has a 7-day return policy for store credit so I’m not able to return them. These were my experiment with a light weight/modular rig and it’s not working for me.

I had high hopes for these cabs, and in retrospect jumped the gun on customization. I just really dislike the looks of the GK grill and prefer a more classic look. The grill recovering job turned out pretty good. It’s not perfect, but I like the way it looks better than stock. If you prefer the stock look, I have inquired with GK about getting new grills and will add any information I find out to the ad.

Prices: These prices are for a local sale only. If you are in California and willing to drive, I’ll meet you half way. This applies to Reno, NV and surrounding areas as well. Add shipping for anywhere else
210 $225
410 $350
2 210’s $400
1 210 + 410 $ 550
All three cabinets $700
The 210’s are 8ohm’s and the 410 is 4ohm’s

The Good:
-They are very light.
-They can get loud.
-They can punch
-The 210’s put out a lot of lows
-All three cabs have already been lined with damping material, which has helped some of the sonic weirdness.
-My sometimes poor decision making skills = deep discounts

The Bad:
-The 210’s put out a lot of lows. In my opinion they are boomy.
-All three cabinets have been lined, which means warranty voided.
-IMO they are not very articulate. They get big, but I can’t always clearly hear what I’m doing.
-Speakers and toddlers don’t mix. One speaker in the 410 received a ¾ in cut in the cone. It was clean and straight and was patched from the back. I turned it up loud at practice and everything is fine, but I need to mention it.

If your wanting to know if I’ll go lower on the price the answer is probably, but only on a deal for all 3 cabinets. I’m taking at least a $350 dollar loss within a few weeks time, so the only way I will ship is if the buyer pays actual shipping.

Two by 210 stack

410 + 210 stack – Sorry this ones a bit blurry.

I just re-read my for sale post for these and I'm definitely not winning the salesman of the year award. It just didn't seem right to fluff up something that I'm disappointed with just to move it. So I'm going to clarify a few things that may have colored my personal opinion of these cabs.

I got rid of a cab that I really liked to buy these. It was sonically everything I wanted, but it was getting to a be a problem moving it for shows. I had been thinking of going lighter and modular for a while and after trying a 210MBE in the store decided to go for these cabs. I figured I would get everything I was looking for. A small single cab for the church gigs. A vertical 2 x 210 stack for smaller stages and a full 610 setup for the rest.

Sitting down tonight with my WA and a single 210, I was generally pleased with the setup. It would be perfectly usable for me at the church gigs. The problem comes when I'm with my regular band. The 2 x 210 vertical stack or the 610 stack just don't hit and cut like my old cab. Generally speaking the GK's aren't bad, but they leave me wanting more. I've read posts from people who love these cabs and I wish I were one of them. However, compared to my old cab I'm disappointed -YMMV.

I am very motivated to sell these and will entertain all reasonable offers.

Bump for a ridiculously good deal! So now you've got us all curious, Aaron, about what this last magnificent cab of yours was. Care to share? Oh and I am still rocking that neo 412 you sold me, doesn't look like it's going to be leaving anytime soon either

Glad to hear your stilling rocking the 412. That was a cool cab. I don't know that I would call it magnificent, but for the last year I've been using a Mesa PH1000. 136lbs of face melting bass.
