This is an old PA amp that I brought back to life. I was planning on playing coffee houses with this amp, a 2X10, an acoustic guitar, and a mic.
Well, Winter has came and gone so I am abandoning that project.
I have
Fully rebuilt this amp-
ALL new caps, resistors, and tubes. I then painted the chassis and transformers. This amp plays GREAT however, since it squeezes 50 watts out of 2X EL-34 tubes, they get pushed to the limit when you open the volume control up and start blasting. The plate on one tube will begin to glow so perhaps some non-Chinese power tubes are in order... The tubes are all new with maybe 200 hours on them total since the rebuild and are
included and functional. There is also an adjustable bias pot installed should you need to change bias settings.
The sound is very old school. Even through 10's you get massive bottom and a pleasant though slightly scooped midrange. Highs are easily tamed if necessary. Has 2 mic inputs, a line level input, bass, treble, and master volume. Each with its own knob. 4,8,16, 25V, 70V outputs. I am including mic adapters, speaker cable, tubes, and a RCA stereo to mono adapter should you want to use it with an iPOD. Schematic and parts receipts are included. I have about $350 into this head for parts. I am willing to let it go for $185. I can ship it pretty cheap through FedEx but you would need to pay for that unless other arrangements are made.
