70's Ampeg V4B $450 Nashville

(early 70's???) Ampeg V4B

This is a great classic amp but it does need just a bit of work to get it working properly. I would keep it however I have a Divided by 13 and a 70's Fender Bassman that are doing the trick for me.

This amp does need the caps changed to work properly. It currently has the originals and they are dried up and as a result the amps has a really bad hum. It has BRAND NEW tubes (7027's and preamp) and my tech has looked it over. Everything is good to go except for the caps. Fliptops.net sells the cap kits and any good tech can install them. Let me know if you have any questions.

$450 local pickup only (Nashville, TN)

what is the cost of the cap kit and how much do you think it would cost to have installed?

A cap kit looks to be $89

Im guessing a good tech could do it for $70-150 depending on how well you know him...... It kind of just depends on how familiar they are with the vintage Ampeg stuff. None of it's too complicated though...
