70's Fender 4x12 (412) Bassman 100 "Pyramid" Cab

PRICE DROP - 70's Fender 4x12 (412) Bassman 100 "Pyramid" Cab

Selling this for my guitar player. He's looking for $300 or best offer. Since it's sitting in my guest room, I cannot stress that "best offer" part enough. Cab is in great shape considering age. Tolex only has a few scratches.

This is a big boy and it sounds great. He's willing to arrange shipping, but you'd need to contact a crating service. Local sales preferred.

Located in Odenton, MD, not far from Baltimore and DC.

Some local nibbles, but nothing yet. Throw out a number. I'd be he'd take a good chunk less than advertised.

Insulting offers welcome.

You must be the strongest man in the world.

Chef 01-11-2013 09:20 AM

whyzat?

gimp 01-11-2013 09:24 AM

Because this cab weighs about 300lbs!

Chef 01-11-2013 09:27 AM

Nah!
The Peavey 1820's I replaced that with, now, those were heavy.

georgiagoodie 01-15-2013 01:41 PM

I had one of those back in the late '70s. I was playing thru a Peavey Musician head into this, a "big cab." Dual Showman 2-15, AND a Peavey 2-15 cab. spread out around the stage Bill Wyman-style What's that 1.33 ohms? 'Never had a problem. We didn't know an ohm from a watt back then, we just played LOUD!

What happens in that spot in the middle where all the projection from the speakers meet? Worm hole?

That's where faces melt.

I just got authorized for another price drop.

gimp 01-22-2013 08:15 AM

Take this cab, please! ::rimshot::

geeza 01-22-2013 10:45 AM

I had a friend in high school who had one of these and a Traynor head. To this day, the best rig I ever played through.

My wife is afraid of this cab. She thinks it's a giant robot trying to take over our second bedroom. Please, help her!

I tried to look it up on line, but couldn't find it. Do you know how many watts this handles?

gimp 01-23-2013 12:34 PM

I think these were paired up with 100 watt heads back in the day, but I'm not sure what the limit is. Would it help if I pulled a speaker?

It wouldn't help me :D

I don't have anywhere near enough knowledge to figure it out myself.

gimp 01-24-2013 09:49 AM

I'm going to end up pulling one tonight just to check it out. I'll let you guys know.
