I paid almost 400 for this nice preamp
I had been looking for this for a long time. Instead of a 3way eq like the jretro, it bases its frequencies on a filter (exactly like a wah pedal effect), this allows for an amazingly wide variety of tones.
the knobs do the following:
1st knob: volume(top), pickup balance(bottom)
2nd knob: bass volume(top), bass filter(bottom) - this selects how open / closed the filter is.
3rd knob: treble volume(top), treble filter(bottom)
4th knob: vintage tone knob
this preamp has a lot of output and fits fender style basses and knock off fenders really well. it's all chrome and looks almost exactly like the Jretro, except works very differently.
I bought this just over 8 months ago, still new condition - (i didn't even solder any connections, i just basically installed via twisting wires + tape - this thing is in mint condition and was fairly easy to install.
I had this in a ksd700 and was using nordstrand pickups - also will be for sale.
basically i am trying to unload some gear to save up for an fbass. my loss is your gain
if you want my honest opinion of this preamp, it'd give it 8.8-9 / 10.
it works really well, and sounds fantastic, the only downside for me is it takes a alittle getting used to finding the settings you like.
