All Tube Fender Bass Amp (200 Watts)
SOLD to GARYLC
Yesterday, you needed two bass amps to launch your music: a high-powered stage amp and a sensitive studio amp. But changing amps meant changing sound.
So Fender designed the all-new, all-tube Studio Bass Amplifier The studio amp and stage amp in one amp. Which gives you 200 watts RMS And a lot more.
Five-band equalization and tone controls so you can boost and cut frequencies to create the sound you need.
Foot controlled EQ. Volume, tone and output controls that let you play from clean and powerful to deep and dirty.
A standby switch that eliminates warmups by keeping tube filaments hot.
So whether your aim is recording or performing. See your authorized Fender dealer now And get your acts together with the new Studio Bass Amplifier.
It's gonna open a lot of doors for you!

(Copied from original Fender advertisement)

I replaced all the original coupling caps and added an adjustable bias voltage (currently biased at 60%). I have been working on these for years, my workmanship is top notch and the bias mod did not require any holes to be drilled in the chassis. You still retain the original fender matching control...

I have been gigging this amp for three years problem free since I restored it. Typical gigs lasted anywhere from 2-6 hours and were of acoustic to rock n roll volume levels. Fear not my good friend, I would dominate the band with a single 15" speaker and the master volume at 4 out of 10. My drummer would shoot me dirty looks; tube watts really are that loud!

You can get about any sound you desire after turning a few knobs. I have gotten "vintage Fender Bassman" tone through modern clean hi-fi sounds with boosted mids. Whatever tone you are looking for, the 5 band tube driven EQ has knobs in all the right areas. This is in addition to the classic Fender tone-stack that is loved by musicians to this day.

Since I divided this combo in halves, you can use the amp with any speaker cabinet that is 8 ohms. Just think 200 watts of bassman through a Berg or Epi. Tone Tone Tone! All this from a 50 lb amp. Not bad considering it is all tube!

Cosmetics: Just a few bumps here and there to the tollex. She looks almost new for a 30 year old amp.

In summary:

This is a one-of-a-kind 100% working no issues, pops, hisses, hums, buzzes, loose jacks, broken pots amp!
Do also note that the preamp and PI section do not contain any new production tubes with the exception of V1 which is a new production Tung-Sol. There are a mix of Sylvania, Philips, RCA, etc in the preamp. Obviously the power section does contain new production tubes.
6x SED 6L6GC tubes (matched set)
3x 12ax7s
1x 12au7 (tube driven EQ)
1x12AT7
200 Watts all tube power
New tube retainers
New handles all around
New casters
New plug
New power and stand-by switches
New Speaker Cloth on amp and cab
Original silver dust cap EV15B Fender edition speaker (Perfect condition)
Original EQ on-off stomp box
$700 OBO. Throw me some reasonable offers and maybe we can work something?

Tons more photos of the build process if you want those!

Shipping: Since I would like to see the amp and speaker go together, you would be responsible for shipping arrangements. I may be open to selling just the head if the right offer came along.
I am also open to meeting somewhere or half way to somewhere should you live near or pass through Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

I had one of these back in the old days, and it's a great amp. The mod separating the head and cab is awesome! That would certainly make transport a ton easier. If I didn't already have too many amps, I'd seriously be looking at this. Someone should jump on this bump for ya!

Thanks Cheezewiz for the kind words.

This really is a great amp but since I won't be playing out for a few years I think it is time to find her a new home.

Between work and school the music is definitely the best part. Hopefully I can get a new gig going after I finish my degree!

That's a great rig and an out-of-this-world deal.

If I wasn't moving in a different direction (i.e. my wife has snuffed my dreams) I would buy this in heart beat.

That is one of the best sounding bass amps out there! I used to gig through one, and later switched to a Mesa D-180....and think I preferred the tone of the Fender better.
